Range of current values for battery aging test
The range of current values for aging testing varies depending on factors such as battery type, capacity, and testing purpose. Here are the approximate current ranges for some common battery types:
1、 Lithium ion battery
1. Lithium ion battery modules for consumer electronics products:
Charging current: usually between 0.2C and 1C. For example, for a 2000mAh mobile phone battery module, the charging current at 0.2C is 400mA, and the charging current at 1C is 2000mA.
Discharge current: generally between 0.5C and 2C. For example, the same 2000mAh mobile phone battery module has a discharge current of 1000mA at 0.5C and 4000mA at 2C.
2. Lithium ion battery modules for electric vehicles:
Charging current: may be around 0.2C to 0.5C. For example, for an electric vehicle battery module with a capacity of 50kWh, a charging current of 0.2C is approximately 10kW (assuming a battery voltage of 400V, the current is approximately 25A), and a charging current of 0.5C is approximately 25kW (approximately 62.5A).
Discharge current: can be between 1C and 3C. For example, this 50kWh electric vehicle battery module has a discharge current of approximately 125A at 1C (assuming a battery voltage of 400V), and a discharge current of approximately 375A at 3C.
2、 Lead acid battery
1. Starting battery (such as car starting battery):
Charging current: generally between 0.1C and 0.3C. For example, for a 60Ah car starter battery, the charging current at 0.1C is 6A, and the charging current at 0.3C is 18A.
Discharge current: usually within 0.5C. For example, this 60Ah car starter battery has a discharge current of 30A at 0.5C.
2. Lead acid battery module for energy storage:
Charging current: may be around 0.1C to 0.2C. For example, for an energy storage lead-acid battery module with a capacity of 1000Ah, the charging current at 0.1C is 100A, and the charging current at 0.2C is 200A.
Discharge current: generally between 0.2C and 0.5C. For example, this 1000Ah energy storage lead-acid battery module has a discharge current of 200A at 0.2C and 500A at 0.5C.
3、 Nickel hydrogen battery
1. Nickel hydrogen battery modules for consumer electronics products:
Charging current: usually between 0.1C and 0.5C. For example, for a 2500mAh nickel hydrogen battery module, the charging current at 0.1C is 250mA, and the charging current at 0.5C is 1250mA.
Discharge current: generally between 0.5C and 1C. For example, this 2500mAh nickel hydrogen battery module has a discharge current of 1250mA at 0.5C and 2500mA at 1C.

It should be noted that the above range of current values is for reference only, and should be adjusted according to specific battery specifications, testing requirements, safety factors, etc. in practical applications. At the same time, when conducting aging tests, close attention should be paid to parameters such as battery temperature and voltage to ensure the safety and reliability of the testing process.
