In the electric vehicle PACK production line, the layout of capacity aging equipment needs to comprehensively consider multiple factors such as production process, space utilization, logistics transportation, and personnel operation. The following are some layout suggestions:

  1. 1. Near the assembly area: The capacity aging process is usually carried out after the battery module assembly, so the capacity aging equipment should be as close as possible to the battery module assembly line. This can reduce the transportation distance of semi-finished battery modules on the production line, lower the risk of battery damage during handling, and also facilitate operators to timely send the battery modules to the capacity aging equipment for testing after assembly.

  4.
  5. 2. Set up an independent area: Due to the heat generated by the battery during the aging process and potential safety risks, it is best to set up the aging equipment in a relatively independent area. The area should have good ventilation conditions to ensure good heat dissipation and reduce safety hazards. Meanwhile, independent areas also facilitate centralized management and monitoring, preventing non operators from accidentally touching equipment or entering hazardous areas.

  8.
  9. 3. Layout according to equipment type and specifications: If multiple types or specifications of aging equipment are used in the production line, a reasonable layout should be made based on the functions and characteristics of the equipment. For example, separate the lithium-ion battery capacity aging cabinet from the polymer lithium battery capacity aging equipment, so that operators can quickly find the corresponding equipment for different battery types to operate. For large-scale intelligent battery capacity aging systems, due to their large footprint and the possibility of needing to be used in conjunction with other auxiliary equipment, sufficient space should be reserved, and maintenance channels and inspection space for the equipment should be considered.

  10.
  11. 4. Consider logistics channels: When laying out aging equipment for capacity distribution, sufficient width of logistics channels should be reserved to facilitate the smooth passage of battery module handling vehicles or transmission lines. The width of the channel should be determined according to the size of the handling equipment used, generally not less than 1.5 meters, to ensure smooth logistics transportation. At the same time, it is necessary to plan the flow path of battery modules before and after aging in a reasonable manner to avoid logistics cross-over and blockage.

  12.
  13. 5. Convenient for data collection and monitoring: The aging equipment with capacity division will generate a large amount of test data during operation, which needs to be collected and analyzed in real time. Therefore, the layout of the equipment should consider ease of wiring and installation of data acquisition systems to ensure stable signal transmission between the equipment and the monitoring room. The aging equipment can be centrally arranged near the monitoring room, or a dedicated data acquisition cabinet can be set up in the equipment area to facilitate centralized processing and management of data.

  14.
  15. 6. Reserve expansion space: With the expansion of production scale or the increase of product types, it may be necessary to expand or upgrade the aging capacity equipment. Therefore, a certain amount of expansion space should be reserved in the initial layout so that new equipment can be easily added in the future without the need for large-scale renovation of the entire production line.
